Generally Speaking, You Have to be Specific

August 4th, 2006

With everyone that’s taking advantage of online dating, you might be surprised to find an online dating site that caters to your individual needs. For example, if you’re interested in dating other Christians, you can find dozens of Christian dating sites. Interested in those of the Jewish persuasion? There are sites for that too. Have slightly kinkier interests? You can find online dating services for your fetish needs.

In short, you don’t have to hunt too hard to find exactly what you want.

So, how do you find these sites? All you really have to do is pick something that’s important to you – spiritual beliefs, common interests, for example – and then put that into a search engine with the words ‘online dating.’

And sit back and find the right site for you.

Most online dating sites will even let you wander around in them without signing up. You can see what kinds of people are there, what kinds of articles are posted, and if there are any other special things that you can take advantage of.

But since you’ve already picked out your common interests, you’ll probably get excited about online dating and want to get started on finding the right person for you.

Here are some examples of specific online dating sites (but there are plenty more too):

Jdate.com – Jewish dating

Muslima.com – Muslim dating

Christiancafe.com – Christian dating

eHarmony.com – based on personality traits

There are even location specific dating sites as well.

Know what you want (or what you don’t want?), try narrowing your choices to increase your success.

And They Call it Puppy Love?

July 20th, 2006

While you might be interested in a match made in heaven, what about your pet? What about their needs?

Because many of us love our pets above all, we need to find a partner that understands Fido or Mittens. And the online dating world is beginning to respond to these needs.

Online dating sites like AnimalAttraction.com and DateMyPet.com are both designed to match like minded pet lovers up for love and pet companionship. They understand that single people with pets need to find someone who they can love, but also match up with in terms of their pet companions.

Because you want your relationship to start with long term expectations, you don’t want to introduce a pet to the situation at the last minute – and realize just how incompatible your living situations are.

That can spell doom to even the most loving relationship.

And it’s not that you prize your pet over love, but they have already been in your life for a long time. You have a strong bond with your dog/cat/horse/etc. and you want to respect that relationship as well.

With these kinds of online dating sites, you can show your pet appreciation and find others that share your feelings.

That is why they call it puppy love, not ‘it’s me or the puppy’ love.

Match.com knows when to strike when the pot is hot – no puns intended.

With the decine in birthrates and an aging population, Japan is starting to encourage couples to have more children to bring the country back to its high population numbers.

Couples in Japan are also getting married later, which is leading to an overall lowered fertility trend – which is also adding to population concerns.

And that means that Match.com has to bring people together in order to start that family process.

(Of course, the fact that the online dating population may be overly saturated by online dating resources probably has helped Match.com to think about looking outside of the U.S. borders.)

Match.com is even going so far as to create personal consultants that will work with people individually to find the person that they will form a long term relationship with – this program looks to begin in early 2007.

It’s interesting to note that while the Japanese spend much of their time on computers, they are not all that confident of the people that they might meet over the Internet.

But Match.com is hoping that they can change some minds.

Online dating has never been easier – and this online dating company is hoping to save a country in the process.
