Never Fall in Love?

March 18th, 2009

Being single has become a bit more popular these days. The proof is in the single celebrities and more people deciding that they just want to date instead of trying to mate. So perhaps you’re just better off being yourself and never falling in love.

Love is a pain, after all, right?

Here are some tips to make sure you’re not going to fall in love anytime soon:

  • Don’t try to meet anyone – If you can’t meet the love of your life, you’ll never fall in love, after all. Makes sense, right?
  • Don’t give any of your dates a second chance – If they screw up right once, they’re out of your life.
  • Don’t listen to advice from your friends – Even though they might be completely honest, they’re not going to help you find someone new anyway.
  • Don’t keep parts of your life secret – If you’re out on a date, air out all of your dirty laundry – and your deep dark secrets.
  • Don’t listen to a word they say – Since they’re not going to be a partner for you, why bother listening to what they say?

Choosing to stay single is empowering and something you can start right now. Just follow this advice and you will certainly not get asked on a date again. Whew.

The Recession Increases Your Chances of Finding Love… Really

March 9th, 2009

For one moment, stop looking at your stocks and your 401K – it’s bad out there. And it’s getting worse by the moment.

But perhaps there’s a bright spot in all of this gloom and doom.

When people are feeling low, they naturally look for ways to get themselves into a better mood. And what better way to break a funk than to look for love? People want to be with others and this can boost your chances of finally finding someone to share your life with.

Just look at the online dating world and the singles crowd in your town. You’ll see more and more people signing up and hooking up.

Things might be bad out there, but you can find someone to share your woes with and someone who not only understands, but who is also looking for something to celebrate in their lives – and that something might be you.

So, instead of hiding under a rock until 2010 (or whenever things are going to look up again), you might want to start getting out more for singles meets and signing up for online dating services. You may just find that riches are more than just the totals of your retirement accounts. Perhaps love really is what conquers all – recessions included.

Upping the Odds With More Online Dating Profiles

March 2nd, 2009

When you go to Las Vegas, you don’t just put all of your money into one slot machine and hope for the best, do you?

(Okay, if you do, this might be why you’re not winning at all.)

The same logic needs to apply to your online dating adventures. You need to start looking for ways to boost your odds of finding Mr. or Mrs. Right. And you can do this by signing up with more dating websites.

Sure, you might think this is an expensive way to find love, but with numerous free sites available, you don’t have to spend on all of the dating websites. You can sign up on several sites at a time, exposing the same profile to as many potential interests as possible. In doing so, you will up your chances of love, and that is a pretty sound investment.

It will be helpful too if you post the same (or basically the same) profile on each site. This way, you can keep your facts straight as to what people should know about you when they get to your profile. It will also help if you use the same pictures so if others are on the same sites as you are, they aren’t going to contact you 15 times.

Being lucky in love always involves a roll of the dice, but if you want to make sure you get the right numbers, you need to play smart.
