Need a New Yahoo?

August 26th, 2006

Yahoo Personals is one of the most popular and largest online personals websites. They have millions of profiles listed with in depth details and pictures. Creating a profile is easy and pretty quick. The more information you provide, the better responses you will get!

Yahoo offers some of the most usable compatibility tests available. They are available to premium members only. The questionnaire will take a while, but if you are honest in your answers you will get your personality type, romance type, etc. Checking the chart when browsing for profiles is fun and gives you an instant heads up before you ever contact the person!

Do you have any comments, complaints or something to say about Yahoo Personals? Did you meet someone special on this site? If so, we’d love to hear from you. Your opinion matters!

Metrodate Review

August 23rd, 2006

Now absolutely free, Metrodate offers a truly user friendly online dating service available in 13 different languages worldwide. With the ability to cross link various cities, there are literally millions of profiles to browse through. Just pick your desired country from a drop down list, and away you go! Metrodate offers numerous features to their members and their site appears to be on the cutting edge of online dating technology.

They offer video messages, voice recordings, chat rooms and more.

You can send messages and contact other members only with premium memberships. However, you can browse through profiles before creating your own. After browsing, one thing I found frustrating was that many of the profiles weren’t completed. The area in which you enter some details about yourself was often full of one liners and not much useful information. A little over half actually supplied a picture with their profile.

It isn’t stated if the profiles are monitored, but from the content of some, it seems they are not. For example I saw requests for illicit affairs and romantic encounters, as well as long term relationships, so use caution when surfing through the many profiles.

Treat Your Dating Profile as a Job Interview

August 16th, 2006

If there was a new job you really wanted, you wouldn’t show up half ready, would you? And isn’t finding the love of your life, or at least a person who wants to be, at least as important, if not more so? And for something that important, you would present your best resume, look your best and show off your best features.

Many people approach their dating profile as a last resort. They don’t use the mindset that this tool could be the most important way to finding future happiness. Sloppy headlines, offensive comments and spelling errors are only a few ways to turn prospective dates off before they even start. Here are a few tips to your online profile success:

Use correct spelling, proper punctuation and follow grammar rules! Instant messages and emails when you know someone better is the place to use witty and current abbreviations. Doing so now only makes it look like you can’t spell.

Snag a catchy headline – but for the right reasons. Don’t be crude, rude or offensive at first glance. No one likes hate mail, including you.

Fill out the about you section using the above points, and upload a current, well lit picture and you are almost ready to run.

Good luck!
