I have been on and off of this site for more than 6 months with little to show for my efforts but a big Visa bill. This site has companies that contract other "match maker" and translation services who all seem to have some slightly different rules about direct contact. In my opinion many of the translations are not complete or accurate and they will often delete the email addresses sent to a lady for direct contact even if the woman can speak English. Some of them will never allow a woman to send a man her email address and so they hook you into very expensive communications. I would not be surprised to learn that some of these profiles are fake and set up for the purpose of getting a man to spend more money. Some ladies say they miss you or love you before you have even gotten to know anything about one another, which makes me suspect. Unless something changes I would not recommend this site. Your experiences may differ.

@george stubblefield You don't know everything, You have been lucky. I have seen problems with this site. I had 20 chats over 2 months with this one girl, she wrote me a letter saying "do you still remember me?". I just spoke with her 2 nights ago. Asked for phone number 3 times she says "she wants me and come over in usa for life with me". I asked her to go on yahoo chat, there's also live chat translation. She says she can't get on. Asked 4 others i don't do Chnlove chat no more. You want me go to yahoo here's my address. That's been 4 days so we'll see. Hate cupid system, it sucks money out of you. Trying not to do any more on this site, but love all the mail though. Chinese woman really want good men.

Chnlove, so many beautiful and intelligent women that fall in love with you instantly just seems fishy to me.

I have tried to find me a wife through CHNLOVE. Caution though, majority of the letters read/sent are translated by the agency staff. They will answer questions from you making you think that the answer came from the gal you are corresponding. The gal has to pay a large sum of money at first when she joins the agency then once you and her get to first base, the gal is required to pay the agency about 30,000 RMB. Some gals can pay but for those who can't, the agency will get the man to pay most of it. This is a legit marriage agency. They just have their ways to make money. I have visited one of their offices and know their tactics first hand. The girls pictured are for real. Just be careful when corresponding with the girls, you will be paying a lot of money just to send/receive letters. Do some research and don't jump in too quick.

James and Mark are both correct. It is the agencies who are promoting the girls. Most of the girls will have one basic letter which was written for them by the agency and this letter is sent out to many prospective men - yes it's impersonal but you have to remember these girls speak little if any English and they have don't have access to the internet like we are all used to here in the West. They are not in a position to write personal letters to every man that might be interested in them.

@joe diamond. Joe. Very bad and deceiving... obviously westerners have to be careful as we're totally helpless for anything practically and obviously short of knowledge of the dating scam in some parts of china. Sorry to hear your news… i once felt that I was cheated out of my money by "fake profiles" as the girls are so beautiful. Luckily I found real women in Beijing and realized that they are not a scam (she's by no means a hottie but she's sweet). Regarding your bad experience, did you ask help from chinalove? Take your time, talk to chinalove customer service first, what's the rush? Perhaps there'll be a big difference if you approach the site customer service directly. Good luck and pls show us the outcome.

@Nigel, I could swear you are the same guy who is the truck driver on the other site. Must be interesting being such a gifted neurosurgeon.
I would think Chnlove could use someone like you to drive their truck and help them sell their wonderful company that has caused many men to waste their money.
Hong is the name of your pet monkey, isn't it?

I joined chnlove in Sept, 2009 and have been corresponding with what appears to be a very lovely young lady with a 4 yr old daughter. Very early she sent me a picture of herself with her daughter, stating it was taken 2 years ago, hmmm. O k, we kept up the chat, and I made the move to devote my heart to her. She backed off a bit, so I suggested to come to china in the spring to meet her, as friends, no commitments. She refused and said that summer would be better for her, knowing that I cannot travel in the summers due to my work. Our conversations have since turned very "bland". I am now having doubts as to her intentions to find love, or even if she is a real person.
I started chatting with another lady, and she is very eager to meet me, at my best convenience. We have great conversations, much talk of love and such. But something doesn't feel right. It seems she wants me to promise her true love before I come. I try to explain to her we must meet first before I can commit myself to her. I'm still on the fence about the whole thing.

Funny thing about the truth to a lot of people is too much to bear so let's seek out a scapegoat make us feel better.

I have mixed feelings about Chnlove.com. I have been a member for several months and have received many letters from young and middle aged divorced women with children. Most of the letters have come through an agency in Changsha, Hunan Province. As the other commentors have stated, the photos in the profiles are lovely, but the women are heavily made-up and the pictures are professionally touched up. I have also experienced similar wording in the letters I have received. When I respond, I often receive a response in less than a day which seems to me to be logistically impossible assuming that the women are working, my letters have to be translated into Chinese, a response written and translated into English. I have had difficulty getting the women to email me directly, even after I explain that I can translate them. There are similar excuses for this which don't really make sense. All of this raises suspicions in my mind which I have shared with Chn.love.
I found one woman who was happy to communicate with me directly. We have been emailing each other for a while and have exchanged current (undoctored) photos. She explained to me that her on-line photos were recent, but she was heavily made-up for the photo shoot. She seem quite legitimate and sincere to me. Perhaps she is an anomaly.
All of this suggests to me that Chn.love is a mixed bag - there are some real possibilities but also some probable scams which may be generated by local agencies to milk fees. My suggestion to users is to give it a try but be cautious and discriminating. If you think you are being scammed, move on until you find someone who appears to be genuine. You may eventually find the real thing.
