I am married 9 years to a Beautiful Chinese lady and have no complaints. We met through mutual friends and I know many that have met through other agencies not Chnlove. It seems to the people I know in China it is the sub-agents that are the problem. Normal rules apply. If it is too good to be true, it is. Why would some cute 35 yr old want a 60 yr old fat male? Think about the Russian ladies scam, the Indonesian scam, and the Philippino scams. The rip-off women live everywhere. Western, Eastern, Asia, name a country and they will take your heart and money.

Man, the girl might be lying to you. Chnlove doesn't provide services to ladies directly, they probably don't know what the agency or ladies did to you. So, the best solution to find out the situation is to report this girl or her agency to Chnlove and ask for your credits back. Don't be conned by these little liars, don't waste your money!

I agree with Bob too. If the lady ain't willing to exchange email addresses or telephone numbers, move on, there will be someone who's more interested in communicating directly. You need to evaluate whether the lady is really interested in you. If she is then she will make the effort. I know that some ladies like testing men's patience to see how serious they are by writing more letters through agencies.

@Damien I have met several ladies in China thru Chnlove. All were "real". I would usually write thru the agencies and after exchanging a few letters, ask for their personal (geren) e-mail or that of a friend which I usually rec'd. If their letter from the agency came back saying "I have no e-mail address. I would end the matter. Upon their personal e-mails I would ask for--and received their cell phones numbers to call when I arrived in China--no problem. I suppose it helps that I can read and write pinyin and speak basic Mandarin. Although I am an American.
PS One lady after our first meeting asked me to send her USD$4,000....so be careful

@BKat Yes we all know Chnlove cooperate with these agencies, they do not have full control over the agencies, partners only anyway. These agencies, their aim is to help the ladies find marriage, so of course they will try all sorts to meet this objective. Probably Chnlove is just one of their partners. I been to the agencies as well, these kinds of agencies in China, they help their members find a marriage relationship, either at home or abroad. If there is success, they will charge a certain kind of success fee. As for how much, it depends on where you are. This is very conventional as long as you know more about China. For example, you introduce a female to your friend, and they get married, they need to give you a lisi (money packed in red envelope) or some gift as a token. This is what my lady friend told me. So it is not strange or unacceptable to the ladies. Anyway, I have tried many different sites, by far it seems Chnlove has most and real success stories.

My Chnlove experience is mostly positive. I joined Chnlove in Nov 2009. Agencies ignored my profile preferences & tried to introduce unsuitable ladies. So I set my profile as 'hidden' & did my own browsing. I put any woman of interest on Favorites list & this alerted her agency. Most contacts went nowhere and some translators no good. After 7 months I saw profile of 'L' and really liked her. Translator 'V' was great & exchange of long emails steadily warmed up. We had two video calls with V's help then direct phone calls via Skype. In late Dec 2010 I flew to China; for over 5 weeks L & I shared apartment she'd found. L is attractive, smart, affectionate, sexy & very caring. Language was difficult at times, L learning English, but we coped and translator V gave phone help. I met some of L's family and got on well with them. Finally I proposed marriage and L accepted. In all my contact with L there has not been anything inconsistent about her. Yes we have a lot of work ahead with visas etc but she's worth it.

I contacted several ladies on Chnlove, some of them were able to contact me through personal email, but their English is not good, and the communication went slow. So the difference is whether or not she is really interested in you, or you are just one of her choices. If she is not willing to try, just run away, she has her choice and I have mine. It is just what we do in regular life.

I have used CHNlove for the past few months ...Here's my take on it. The letters there are fluff to pass the time, don't spend cash you can't afford. Have some fun and try and get some gleam of who this lady is and what she is about. I know the responses are not always hers. I know some are though. She has sent me several messages written on paper she took in the bathroom with her cell phone. So these aren't doctored in the photo lab. Even all the pics in her profile are natural which is one reason I chose to write her... She looks great to me in these picture even better then the professional studio photos you see. That being said i am going to see her in Oct. I'm 40 she is 28 but i date 28 year old women here in Canada as well so it's no big deal. I'm not expecting love at first sight I'm hoping for friends at first sight and see how it goes. If she doesn't show I'm still going to have a great holiday.
A lot of men seem to think it's a scam when they go there and the lady doesn't love them like the letters. Maybe it's because she really doesn't like you when she sees you and you look like crap compared to your pictures.
As far as the dreaded "Hidden costs" or buy out from the Agency i have not asked her about this but i intend to. Also there is the "bride price" ordeal. I have heard this is more a custom than an actual exchange for cash much like the East Indian custom of bartering for your bride on the wedding day. Anyone have any experience themselves with this stuff?

Hey Guys, Not a total noob here, having lived in Thailand for the past several years, I have seen most of the scams out there. Most are the sugar daddy/sponsor scams. I'm not a specialist in any field, nor do I have the advanced education some of you claim to have. I do make good money, enough for living and saving, I've never gone without for what I need or want.
So this leads to myself asking for advice or even help if possible.....
I started to talk with Sophie, real nick name from Chinesekisses.com after a few days of talking via messages there; we decided to chat on msn and qq.
All of the chats are via the video, and she is 100% the same looking as her photo. She is 28 years old, I am 39 years old. The age difference is not a huge amount. I have been offered a new job in China, and I'm due to arrive next week. She asked me to fly into her city before I start work, and spend 2-3 days there, getting to know each other.
She has not talked about love or that other crap that I feel doesn't work online. She has always talked normal and seems to have enough education to get by in life.
So my concern:
1. China scams seem to be the same as Thailand, are there a few variations I should be watching for?
2. The chances that she is talking the same to others with the same intent and messages?
3. Do any of these websites offer a service to have them checked out in various degrees?
4. This might seem shady to a few of you, but I'm prepared for the flames about it as well.
Has anyone here talked with this person Sophie from chinesekisses.com?
If so I'd love to compare notes. I do not trust so easy, and would love to protect myself from a lot of the crap others seem to get doing this.
I guess the face to face meeting will show and tell me a lot, but precautions are the name of the day for me.

I think that just about all of you are a bunch of dumb ass's!! If you take the time to read the do's and don't on this site it tells you not! to do most of the things that you are all bitching about!! It tells you not to send money! Don't send expensive gifts! get pics! and get a web cam for your computer so you can see the lady face to face before you ever go to china!
And if you can't afford the few dollars they charge to translate and deliver your sorry ass letters get off the site! I'm sure that there are ladies on chnlove that will scam you if you let them, I had to sort thru about 20 ladies before I found one that I like, she doesn't look as good as she did in the pics on her profile but she is still a beautiful lady for her age (49). Do you look as good as the pics you put on your profile? I'm 57 and I don't need a 20 or 30 year old lady, and I'm sure they don't want an old man like me.
It's the same on all the web sites you have to be smart enough to sort them out!
I went to china in June of 09, my lady met me at the airport, she took me to my hotel so I could regroup and get some rest, she lived about 20 miles from the airport in Fushun, the next day she came and got me and took me all over the place. I met her friends, her brother and sister, aunts uncles mom and dad, it was great! I had a wonderful time! I stayed at her parents' house 6 of the 12 days I was in china. and yes I gave them some money, they are poor and they saved me a lot of money by letting me stay there, it didn't work out for us, but I made a lot of friends there that I will never forget. I'm writing to another lady now and I plan on going back this year to meet her. And again I had to sort thru them, and this time I found a beautiful 52 year old lady that doesn't look a day over 40. Good luck, be smart.

The world is fraught with people trying to get you to part with your hard earned money through deception. I've personally met four women from Chnlove and they are in fact real. Like some of the other posters stated buyer beware. Some of these desperate guys believe that these hot young girls are searching for an old, old looking, ugly, fat westerner so they jump in hook line and sinker in this thing. I've perused the Chnlove men's companion site and it ain't pretty. 1 out of a hundred guys might actually be good looking and not fall into the above categories. Part of the blame should be because the men have unreal expectations. Would this girl really find me attractive? My Chnlove relationships didn't work out but that was simply incompatibility issues. It's real yet you must proceed with caution. You cannot be victimized unless you allow it. The girl is in love with you and you're no prize package. Commonsense, would a girl like this back home see me this way? Ultimately I've found my love in China on my own yet still have faith in Chnlove that love can be found there. China Shark Mike

I have received about 500 admirer’s notes, and written to maybe 60, at least once. I have actually met 10, on two trips, and found two that I liked. Neither seems to have worked out, but they are real. The photos are "touched up", quite a lot, but some are pretty close to real.
Most ladies seemed ok, a few less so. $ Important to about half, so I tell them nothing about income. I think it can work, as long as you are careful. Some of the agencies charge huge (for China) fees that the ladies, of course, can't afford. You will need to deal with that, if it happens, but I think it would be negotiable.
Some of the ladies/agencies really press you to marry them after just a few days.
Some ladies are reserved, and some not at all. About half want to roll in the hay with you quick fast.

In June, I am going to Changsha to meet a lady. I have had conversations with this lady during 8 months regularly and we were in very good terms. Yes, the lady was very beautiful. But at the agency with her translator and the manager it was only question of my income which is good but, not enough for the lady. I think that there is an intendment between chnlove staff and the lady. I have made a complaint and I have generously received 6 free mails in compensation. May I say that I was coming from Europe to meet this lady? I want to say that I have never received a smile from this lady. For those who do not understand, I think that these ladies are first interested by your money. Perhaps that there are sincere ladies but please be careful and try to take some warranties.
