Very interesting comment from someone -- 4-5 men for every 1 woman. Where did someone get that statistic? It's revealing in several ways. If older men knew that being against the population trend of more single older men than single older women they would not be inclined to waste their time on match.com.

I wish that I could block my current entire state on Match.com. Where I live now is NOT important; I hate Kansas. So, my search for a mate is specifically outside of where I live now because I want to meet someone out of state and move! But I get most of my responses from the state I live in, so I never respond to any of them. Since I don't want men from my city/state contacting me...How do I block my state? Can I? Is this possible?

If I can do this it would make Match.com a perfect 5 star for me.

The worst website ever. I meet an man, he was so cute and nice and romeo with flowers and nice words and great promises and all was look like happy love story.. As soon we get married --after 1, 5 dating -- he become controller, rude, aggressive man. He beat me, cheat me, lied me.. I find out previously he was 6x married, have hundreds of lovers all over the world, have been liar all his life.

I have been off match for over 4 months. They will not let me hide my profile. I am still receiving winks and e-mails along with weekly matches. They continue to harass while cause problems with my girlfriend (not from match). When will they stop! I have been a good customer for the last 7 years, is this the way to treat a good customer! I will never return to match even if it was free!

My own experience, men lie in their profiles. I met a man that claimed to be 5 years younger than what he was, claimed to be athletic and was sooo thin, claimed to be adventurous and was not, claimed to be divorced but the man never married, air brushed his picture to look handsome and was not, he was rude and insensitive. Never again!

I reported several phishing profiles and they closed my account without a refund!! Probably I reported some of their own "animators" When I ask why they closed it, they told me to bring a court order for subpoena. A pretty mediocre website from a technical perspective with sloppy instant messaging and limited search options e.g. one cannot search by "willingness to relocate" (see my comment about distance). You will always have better chances if the girl lives within 30 miles or less of you. Don't try long distance, because having so many male to choose from, they will just pass you for the next local guy. (Male to female ratio must be 3-4 to 1). Hope these comments help.

This is the worse site and here is why. I made a profile and I went out with one person from this site and then the next day she kept texting me and I told her I am not interested. She got mad and she told me she will report me to Match. In fact she did. In less than 24 hours my profile was deleted after I paid $59 for 3 months and they won't give me my money back. I emailed them and called all I got was this:

We received your inquiry regarding the termination of your Match.com membership. Due to our privacy practices, we cannot disclose the specifics leading to the termination of your account. However, we believe this action was in the best interests of our member community. Should you like to obtain additional information, a valid subpoena directed to Match.com, LLC would be required.

I had to call my credit card company to get my money back. This is what I sent to Match.com and they never got back to me:

I am very disappointed on how Match.com decided to terminate my service for no reason, other than one member might have falsely complained about me. The reason I know is because that person texted me on my cell telling me that she will report me because I refuse to go out with her again. I went out with this user and then I wasn't interested, she texted me "what an Ass,. f***er etc" I texted her back and I asked her not to text me again and it seems she had issues". That is all nothing less nothing more. I have proof of that. Then she threatened to report me to you. It seems to encourage abusive users who threaten others with "go out with me or I will report you to Match", and then Match in return deletes my profile. I demand you do a full investigation of this as it is unfair for good users like me to be terminated while you do let the abusive on your site. I even reported her last night, check your logs. If I don't get my account back I am willing to take this story to the media and I will let them investigate it themselves because I do have proof of abusive text messages which will prove I am innocent and that Match encourages an abusive environment.

Match.com is an absolutely awful service, signed up for their 6 months thing, lot of trying to get you to buy just more add-ons, more subscriptions to their other sites and less of actually doing the job in hand, found site slow and cumbersome, there is a lot better sites out there, people claim this is biggest but in my eyes certainly not the best. Oh and their customer support is abysmal. I am totally unimpressed by it, it may look nice to look at but not functional and not fit for purpose. Try a cheaper and nicer alternative.
