I have used SPM for about a year and am very happy. I have met several individuals who were sincere and great people. I have also met a few women who have lied about their age or posted photos that are 10 to 15 years old. Great way to start a relationship isn't it - tell lies to meet someone? Go figure.

Anyway I highly recommend this site for those of us 50 to 75. You'll meet some nice people if you are not one of those few who can be fooled most or all of the time!

I have been a member of seniorpeoplemeet before and can't seem to join again because I don't remember my info that is requested. I have sent my e-mail address several times trying to get the info that I submitted before but I have never heard from seniorpeoplemeet and I have no mail in my spam or bulk folders. Why is it that they don't send me the info I requested? What do I need to do? Please sent me an e-mail explaining.

@Joyce Neubak I had the same thing happen. My e-mail was changed and senior people sent me a message notifying me of the change. They stated that if I did not make the change I should log in to clarify. Unable to log in as someone had changed my password also and my e-mail was no longer recognized as having an account with them. All this happened after I reported a scammer. I did not hear anything about the scammer I had reported. Fortunately I had only signed up for one month at a time, which by the way was more expensive than what was stated on the site to begin with. I called and reported that my visa was compromised and my bank has put a hold on that card, invalidating it. I will not be joining any of these sites in the future.

@Lisa Well, this is a true story! In Nov. 2009 I signed up for SPM for 3 months. I swear, the very first person I contacted was The One! He is now 73 and I will be 65 in 3 weeks. We met after about a month, and were smitten by each other's messages and senses of humor. This man has brightened up my life and I adore him. We speak several times a day--both of us work still, and I like that. Since I had signed up for 3 months, I still entertained other e-mails at that time, and yes, I did hear from the Nigerians, and a guy from France, and believe me, it was really easy to spot the scammers. One even wrote to me and called me Marilyn--not my name. Then I knew he was a fraud. Ladies, pay close attention to the grammar and spelling and hard luck story. These are a dead giveaway. A REAL person will not disclose a sob story as fast as the scammers do. Yes, I am still seeing my local sweetie here in AZ. At Xmas we agreed to "sign up" for another year, meaning to keep seeing one another. When it is your time to fall in love, the right person will appear.

There have been at least 3/4 scammers/spammers per week on this site, but there are also some very respectable and authentic men. I have met a couple of them so I can vouch for it.

I thought I'd provide a bit of useful information for y'all. These are common sense tips for dating online and offline, and can be useful when meeting someone new. Happy dating!

    Dating Safety Tips

    1. Anyone who is able to commit identity theft can also falsify a dating profile.

    2. There is no substitute for acting with caution when communicating with any stranger who wants to meet you.

    3. Never include your last name, e-mail address, home address, phone number, place of work, or any other identifying information in your Internet profile or initial e-mail messages. Stop communicating with anyone who pressures you for personal or financial information or attempts in any way to trick you into revealing it.

    4. If you choose to have a face-to-face meeting with another member, always tell someone in your family or a friend where you are going, whom you are going to meet and when you will return. Never agree to be picked up at your home. Always provide your own transportation to and from your date and meet in a public place with many people around.

    Deciding to meet

You should never exchange personal information with someone you just met on an internet service without first checking out their credentials. We advise you against meeting people in person that you just met on our service.

If you do decide to meet, after a lengthy exchange of messages and after you confirm that the person is who they say they are, you should only meet in a public place during the day.

First, please know that we are sorry for your experiences. Senior internet scamming has become big business on the Internet--across all platforms and all dating sites. The bottom line--as in real life-- is if it sounds fishy or too good to be true,, trust your instincts. We rely on members to report fraudulent or suspicious activity, which is why our "Report a Concern" button is available on every profile and in your inbox. If you pay monthly, you can cancel your account at any time before the auto-renew date each month. Click on "My Account" and then "Unsubscribe me."

@Phyllis Sadly, Phyllis, this is all too common on online dating sites. They jump from site to site and are hard to pin down. However, unlike many dating sites, we have an entire division that handles SPAM and scams. Please report any suspicions to us via your "Report a Concern" button, which is located on all profiles and in your inbox. Continue to be cautious, but have fun! Lisa from SeniorPeopleMeet.com

This site worked for me. I wasn't sure about this site since I never heard about it before. I discovered it a few weeks ago on this review site and decided to give it a chance. I was surprised to see how many other single seniors they have on their site. I got several matches emailed to me and I began a messaging another member. After a few back and forth emails we decided to meet in person and we plan to meet up again this weekend. BTW, i noticed seniorpeoplemeet's commercial the other day while watching cable.
