Fitness Singles - bad practices

Rating 1 – by JeffinLouisvilleRating 1 – by JeffinLouisvilleRating 1 – by JeffinLouisvilleRating 1 – by JeffinLouisvilleRating 1 – by JeffinLouisville JeffinLouisville | USA | November 30th, 2011 at 01:48 AM

I signed up for Fitness Singles (which you can without giving a credit card). Had not completed my profile yet but started checking out the site. I do not recall the timing but it was brief, maybe an hour or so, an email was placed from someone by the handle "Cherribom". Wow, an email already and my profile isn't fully set up yet. Well to read email you have to sign up with a credit card. I thought (or didn't) what the heck, and signed up. Well "Cherribom" looked like a promising biking partner, I replied, "she" sent me another email, nothing special. I then started to look around at how many potential FS ladies there were in my age range in the Boulder, CO area… I was disappointed in the numbers, maybe 22. I broadened my search and the numbers were dismal for the greater Denver area. At that point I realized the first email that triggered my curiosity to find out who was sending me email was probably false. I had been hoodwinked (scammed) into signing up.

I decided to cancel within a day of subscribing with a credit card (2 days from setting up the account), did that but the service says it does not do refunds, I remembered that fine print. I thought how can they insist that I got any value for the service provided? Well I paid with AMEX, I felt if anyone could get me out of this AMEX could. Registered complaint, explained at length to customer service about the email gimmick, how I felt it was a scam. It took a couple months to have them reject my claim. So my only recourse is to warn folks: They will not refund, period. Makes you wonder about how fair their business practices are. Any service that will not refund does not deserve your business, something wrong there. Check the site out completely, I am not the only person to complain about the number of subscribers. Fitness Singles just doesn't have the number of subs required to support Denver/Boulder in my opinion. If you do have to sign up, do the minimum subscription, if it works out renew for the longer better value subscription. Buyer beware.

Can you hear that sound? It's me kicking myself... $89 down the drain! Buyer beware. FS has bad business practices. Thanks for reading, spread the word.
