The comments say it all

The comments say it all! Despite allowing females to join for free while charging guys, the ratio in a quick search of Greater London is 70% male to 30% female!! Either there are a disproportionately large number of guys getting ripped off or there are a large number of fake profiles or my favourite the single Muslim women out there see this site for what it really is and just plain do not sign up! But that by no means stops the site administrators from leaving up profiles from both men and women that have been inactive for longer than 3 months, thus artificially inflating the numbers (and your hopes). To be fair it does at least indicate when the profile was last active.

There are a lot of Pakistanis on the site. In my experience there are a lot of female profiles that actively or tacitly seek other Pakistani men (of which sadly I am not). Sometimes it's written at the end of their profile, sometimes it takes a few messages to and fro to get them to admit it. The Pakistani guys don't seem to have this specific requirement thank goodness! But given the sheer volume of Pakistanis and the desire (at least among the women) to have a Pakistani groom perhaps the site should be renamed "Singlepakistani.com".

After about 3 months of looking (with a 5 star rated profile no less) I finally managed to arrange a coffee with an Indian Muslim lady who actually had pictures of herself on her profile!! When I finally met her it became apparent that she was at least twice the size of what her picture led me to believe. As an understanding guy I could have laughed it off as looks aren't everything, but upon speaking to her I realised she was not as religious as her profile led me to believe. Her personality wasn't mature or fun or anything much to be honest. Just to let you know it took me 3 months of no replies/rejections/weirdoes and nearly £100 to get to this stage! I stopped the direct debit from my bank immediately and closed my account.

When it comes to marriage there are only 2 real options: The Arranged marriage your parents refer you to after extensive research of a suitable candidate and his/her family OR the Love marriage that you yourself find in the Real world (with risk!). Singlemuslims.com deceives you into believing there is a halaal middle way, but the net result if you join is an arranged marriage with you trusting a business rather than your own parents or your own instincts to find a partner you like. The probability is a lot lower.

No, I'm not an 'admin' - I'm a success story, one of these people:

    http://www.singlemuslim.com

With real experience of the site, with a real success, with an Umrah trip for sharing my story. I found success on Single Muslim, I have a beautiful wife, a happy marriage and now a child - thanks to Single Muslim.

Why is it 'OK' to go around the internet criticising something (even if you have no experience of it) but its deemed suspicious if you actually congratulate something?

@refreshin Refreshing, it seems like you are only one defending singlemuslim. You have also posted at http://uk.answers.yahoo.com. Are you the administrator of singlemuslim?

I actually found success on SingleMuslim.com. I joined after hearing so much about the site and having so many recommendations and attending so many 'Single Muslim Weddings'. My wife and I are now expecting our first child, all thanks to SingleMuslim.com!
