Date.com is one of the most long-standing and better known online dating services. They cater mainly to those seeking long-term relationships, whether that is straight, gay or lesbian. The website is very easy to navigate. Once you create a profile, that is. You don't have the ability to look through their site until you provide all of your information. There are several pages to fill out and skipping this step isn't allowed. Once logged into the site, the home page displays a useful section which shows the number of people currently online, new members, and more importantly, the number of people near to you. The links in this section take you directly to those members.
The profiles are comprehensive and much information can be learned by reading them. Most also display at least one photo. Some have more photos available for Gold members to view. If you want to take a tour of the site, it explains their features and services nicely. But since browsing around isn't an option unless you have a profile created, it's hard to see all of their features firsthand. Free members are able to do searches, view profiles, and express interest through virtual flirts. However, other services such as chat rooms, instant messenger, and sending emails are only available on upgrading to Gold membership. Three payment options are available, namely credit card, PayPal, or payment by post.
There is no adult content allowed on the profiles. The many available features make Date.com an attractive dating service. They offer services like video and voice greetings which many other sites don't have the capability to do yet.
