FindADate is a simple free dating service available to people anywhere. It has a rich set of features as well as the essentials such as email, online chatting and the ability to create friend lists. New members can create a profile with a minimal amount of information, and gain access to the site. On entering the site, you’ll seen the “completion status” of your profile displayed on your home page. The home page also gives you an instant “heads-up” telling you how many emails you have, who’s online, and how many members are near you. It also shows the total number of times your profile has been viewed by other people. You can really get creative with your profile, by uploading videos, music clips and you can even keep a online diary (my blog).
The search facility has three elements: a basic search, an advanced search, and saved searches. Saved searches will store your settings for you so that you don’t have to keep entering the same search options. The basic search allows you to quickly bring up a list of people within a certain radius of a given location. The advanced options allow you to whittle down your matches considerably by setting additional filters, and optionally removing profiles without photos. As a fun alternative to searching, try the “vote” button. This will show you a random selection of photos of members, to which you can vote your likes or dislikes.
