Fitness Singles is a site for those people whose sporting activities or health regime is an important aspect of their lives. Of course it also serves as a place for those who want to meet an "athletic type" as well. New members are required to fill in several pages of information, including their sporting activities, general appearance, employment and smoking and drinking habits as well as a description of themselves. All profiles are checked before going live on the site, and although you’ll be able to gain access, several features (including email) will be blocked until you’re approved.
Three profile searches are provided; the basic search, advanced search, and username search. Basic search allows you to find compatible members quickly by their age, desired relationship and their location. The advanced search offers an array of additional choices to help you to whittle down your list of potential matches. Clicking on a photo in the resulting lists will reveal the full profile of that person, which includes their public photo album, physical activities, and their level of expertise in each of their sports. It’s possible to message him/her from here (once your profile is approved), using either the site’s email system, winks, or chat if they happen to be online. If you have a "free account" you will find you're prompted to upgrade on trying to access chat or email. Flirts (showing interest) can be sent for free but that's all.
Fitness Singles has around 105,000 active users which makes it one of the biggest “specialist fitness” dating sites at the present time. Most of the people on the site are dedicated to some sporting activity or other; some are seeking a partner to join them in their activities, while others are seeking romantic connections. Prospective members should note, as some of the comment post below have mentioned, other sites with much larger membership also have the ability to search for members based on sporting and fitness interest.

I met a good amount of fitness peeps but this looks even better!
Unfortunately, I agree that it is the worst site I've been on for dating. First it's not user appealing, user friendly. When I click on my profile, I want to see it all at once so I can view what others are. I am usually overwhelmed with responses when I first join a site as many of us are since you're put at the top of the 'view' list, and this one? Nothing...Crickets. I think it's a great site in theory, but no one's on it. Fail.
@Anthony About a year ago i joined this website and I'm from Australia. Biggest false claims and worst dating site I've ever used. They advertise that 1,000s of people join per month. What a load of rubbish. There are probably only about 100 women on this entire site. And I'm sure there are many fake profiles too. I usually get many responses from dating websites. I even spoke to the company and complained that normally i get many responses from other dating sites and accused them of making false profiles to boost the numbers. If i was in America i would have this company investigated.
Seems pretty much worthless unless you're over 40. Doing a fairly broad search in the Los Angeles area for women up to 32 years of age yields less than ten profiles that have been active within a week. I'm giving it one more week, and if i don't get any responses to my emails, i'm canceling.
It is a bit overpriced but most of the people who are on it are really into fitness whereas on Match.com or a few others, there's a lot more people but you have to screen and screen to find truly fit people. And a lot of their people SAY they like sports but then you find out it's really not that important to them. So it depends on how important finding a truly active person is to you.
Yes it is a waste of time for Fitness Singles on net. It's boring and too slow, haven't met anyone yet. Know some man who is a very bad jerk!!!! I rather meet face to face. Better than online. Not worth it. Thanks.
I have been a member on and off FS for a couple years. I am in Law enforcement and as a trained investigator am very suspicious of profiles that seem perfect and in my locale. I even get a profile interest message from them, enough to get me to renew my membership, but then cannot ever get a reply back from the person who allegedly said it. In addition, those profiles go curiously inactive shortly thereafter. Though I have no proof, I am now of the opinion that the site intentionally creates profiles and then fraudulently sends out the messages in order to solicit inactive members to renew. I have met some legitimate ladies on here but too far to be realistic for a relationship. The close ones however appear to be tailor made. "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." My suggestion, save your money and hit the gym instead.
So expensive for such a dismal membership total. OKcupid or pof have search engines that can produce similar results over a much larger membership.
68% men, ha whats the point in joining that if you are a guy, go to the local gym to find fit women? Not where I am its about 90% guys and 10% mingers.
This site is a total con!! Beware! I cancelled my subscription with plenty of notice and even got a confirmation email that my auto renewal would be stopped. Checked my bank account and the cheeky robbing F**ckers had taking another month's payment without my knowledge or permission!! Don't know if I will ever see it again? Stay away from fitness singles and don't give them your card details!
Just wanted to reply to those whom are thinking its a scam.... well it's not. I was hesitant to join for obvious reason, however I have been dating someone I met off the site for 1 1/2 years now. He is the most genuine and handsome man EVER, my other half! I just hope when you do decide to take the leap and date online.... do it the right way. You must make them respect you and meet in public for at least 6 weeks and take things slowly. We first met at Starbucks and I took my pup for good measure! Best of luck!!
One star also. I did one dating site few years ago and had made a lot of contacts and had a few dates, some have lead to long time friendships. I am not all into myself and a former pro athlete and decent looking. Fit singles has been the opposite results. Maybe the on-line dating site has been becoming saturated. I have been finding more interesting people with-in becoming more active and involved in my sports. All-in-all, save your money and most of all your time elsewhere....
I agree with everyone regarding very few members and inflated prices. The one thing F.S. doesn't tell you is some of the profiles are set up by people who are checking out the site deciding whether to join or not. So you have no idea if that person is a member or not and it will look like they are because it shows when you log on (i.e. within 24 hrs). If you save a person's profile they can check you out and respond but have no idea you are not a member and then they think you're rude by not contacting them. I'm not wasting my time or money on this site.
Wow, such positive comments. If you are not getting a reply it is more than likely that you are not promoting yourself well. Also remember that you are one of many and may not be the one for that member. 2 weeks.... really, you think you will have complete success in that amount of time. A one month membership is about the same or less than one date! The site works really well, I have met a lot of nice woman and have grown a couple of relationships over time. One fell apart due to a move and the other is on. All of this in 4 months. Believe me when I tell you the woman are every bit of real!!!
Fit singles is awful...DO NOT waste your money. I don't even think the good looking people exist. The guys in my area are shlumpy and haven't been on the site for weeks and months. A total complete waste of money...if you sign up, they don't pay back anything. I joined for 3 months...could see it was a scam. from Sept 2-17.
They do a good job of removing fake profiles; they have pulled some scammers off within an hour of my reporting them. I do agree that there are not a lot of members, but the pictures are great! I have chatted with a few guys, but it was more for fun because they lived too far away to date.
I have been on the site for about 2 weeks now and I have received many responses to my emails. The customer support has been prompt and courteous and unlike many websites they even have a toll free international number for contact. The key with any online dating site is to create a professional looking profile and add some sincerity to your bio. Too many profiles that are created for online dating sites contain poor grammar, spelling and dark photos. Also, don't list your "seeking for" age range as 18 to 40 if you're a 40 year old man. It creeps out the women that you are trying to contact. As with any dating site online you get what you put into it. All the women have to go off of is what you include in your profile so spend a good amount of time creating it. I agree that there could be more members but the site is not designed for the popularity contest found on sites like Match. The focus is on a small amount of quality leads. Hope this helps!
I total agree, this is a waste of time and money. This is why I am creating a site for fitness singles where you can become a member for free. This is not like the sites that tell you to join for free and then you get emails from members and to read the emails you have upgrade to a premium paying membership. This is my site and it is and will be free. I'm still working on it but pay the site a visit and let me know if there is anything I should add for the fitness singles. Thanks, Alex
i am in total agreement with the prior reviews! expensive, non-responsive, and few members especially in your region. dont even bother.
DO NOT ever try this web site, they are rubbish, they removed my cousin's membership mixing her up with me but they insist to keep an abusive user's membership alive even when this member sent me quite offensive messages. They are out of order, they do not care if a member abuse another member, or swear at her they just think about money but nothing else. They do not know what they are doing, i have contacted the better business office and sent emails to the newspapers and press offices about this rubbish site, they allow abusive people to carry on their abusive activities. They of course refused to refund the money back but my credit company has paid the money back to me already and now they have to pay the money to my credit company, hope they get lesson. Stay away from this people.
