Hello to all, it has been interesting to read the comments here. Same thing happened to me as well. I had a bit of trouble with Markus at first, I think because I advertise as a tranny, but after my first two deletions (more than a year ago) he left me alone. Then... poof.... deleted again a few days ago for no reason. He claims he is no longer involved in "customer service", must have hired someone of the same calibre. There's probably no point in wasting time trying to get back on POF, there are other places to go. However, for those who are into using the Personals, Kijiji is another one to watch out for. I can no longer place an ad on the site, despite the fact that I carefully crafted my ads to stay within their rules. And I just wish I could meet the Kijiji police face to face and have them explain why I am banned and yet there are many advertisers who are WAY outside their so called rules. Someone here said earlier, and quite accurately, that it's very easy to hide behind an email address. Take care all.

I just had the same repeat deleted experience at plentyoffish, with a profile which said digendered up front. I've been thinking to build a better dating / activist networking / forum site anyhow, and now I'm thinking to do so just to take Markus down.

My profile was deleted for no reason, tried to set up a new profile but that was gone within few hours as well. I have never been rude to anybody and had normal pictures.

I no longer exist on POF either! I did nothing wrong, tried to recreate 5 or 6 times, got the confirmation, then "this email is not registered in our database". Well, maybe someone needs to tweak that program that keeps deleting us regular folks who did nothing wrong. I am bummed as I was having some really great connections which were all local and now they are wondering if I am living in an alternative universe! I am trying some paid sites and will try the above mentioned freebie as well.

Why does it keep deleting some people and not others? I have friends who have been on for months..... Quite frustrating indeed!

I joined plentyoffish.com nearly 2 weeks ago and was doing fantastic with the ladies - it was amazing. Until I woke up a few mornings ago went to check my messages on POF and guess what? Gone, vanished deleted finished! I tried to re register and it accepts then after 2 min that’s deleted as well. This is really doing my head in. I’ve been told that maybe you can’t create more than 1 profile on the computer that I had originally registered with. So I went to an internet cafe registered and it was working. I was wrapped so happy. Then I got home and guess what? NOTHING again! I hope this pathetic human being loses his business.

That idiot Markus is under the impression that he is an expert on who is undateable. The only complaints he listens to are when other members have a disagreement with you. One member whose handle is womanfortouching emailed me first. She seemed interested but when I told her I was transgendered, she blocked me and and afterwards I was deleted. She ratted on me. Markus considers Transgendered people undateable. He doesn't reason, he just deletes. Will somebody tell womanfortouching that she had no reason to rat on me. I have tried many times to re register but I belive Markus has my IP address blocked or flagged as trouble. I swear, I never treated anybody rude or sent threatening emails .

If everyone is tired of POF then why not try a new 100% free site called SpecialSome1.com. It is much better and much easier to use.

I agree with the majority. I joined over 3 years ago and never encountered any problems, then a few months ago I went to log in and I couldn't - my profile had inexplicably been deleted. I hadn't broken any of the 'rules' and had just come out of a serious relationship with someone (who I incidentally met on another much better 'paying' dating site). I tried to set up a new profile and was booted off again. The moderators are akin to nazis and as for the wonderful Markus - you STINK! Yeah we all believe that you run POF single-handedly. Single we maybe, but stupid we are not. This site is an insult to any decent, intelligent person and you folk who are smug saying ohhhhh what a wonderful site I've met a great guy/girl of there. Beware - you too can be booted off at any time for no reason whatsoever. Please steer clear of this site. After all you get what you pay for and I guess I shouldn't have expected much more from a free site.

I have had a great experience on plenty of fish. I met a wonderful guy on there, never thought I would have but I did. The only problem I had with this site is the messenger plane rarely works. Sometime its a miracle to talk to someone through that. But besides that it was worth it. I can say there are some decent men online.

I will have to agree with Frank. I recently opened an account on plentyoffish. I was happy with a few of my matches and we were holding great conversations, so I already had a couple of candidates. I came to log in today only to find that my account was deleted. I never received an email as to why. I read the agreement and nothing on there indicates that I breached it. I tried to create the account again with another name and email to see what happens, I get the same result. It really sucks, I was having such a good time. Guess that's why there are paid sites.

I've been on Plenty of Fish for a few months on and off, met a couple of people but I find if you are not a male super model or drop dead gorgeous, or making over $100,000 per year the girls don't want to look at you. Now for you girls, even you hot ones, your life span for being sexy and beautiful comes to an end after 40. For most of you, after you have kids, you never look that good!! So one thing more ladies, give the average Joe a chance for once.

I have to agree with all the above. What a nice time I had for 1 day. That was the use I had, so switched to another site (Christian). This one doesn't have nude pop-ups that are spelled so close to this one. Shame!

What kind of website screws their customers over? Do they not want more people using their webpage, and registering? I could not even register. Apparently after typing in about 15 variations of my name, including 14-character long 'jerhgvoiengine886' type user names, all of them were said to be taken. That's right! Every single user name I could think of was taken.

Plentyoffish.com to me, is a disgrace. I must really apologise for my language. Plenty of fish? More like plenty of trash! I have never had the misfortune of encountering something so user-hating. It's almost like a holocaust for people trying to date online, with profiles being deleted, people not being able to register - and not even a courteous reply as to why such things have happened.

    I give this website a -10 out of 0.

I had the same problem. I had my account open for three days and meet several great guys. Then my profile was deleted for no reason, no warning or anything. I did everything they said to fix the problem - created my profile again and again nothing happened. If this is their customer service it sucks. I won't be surprised if the company bombs soon. I thought it was great to have a free website until this happened. If anyone knows how to fix the problem, please help. I also sent several emails but had no response.

I had a profile on Plenty of Fish for many months, made many friends of whom I stayed in contact with. I logged on one Sunday afternoon and things were working fine, logged on again on a Monday evening, only to find my whole profile had been lost. I have been trying ever since to re-create my profile. I've done nothing wrong but still fail to create my profile again. I get as far a loading my Pictures, I do a search send some emails then hey presto its gone again.

I've sent numerous emails to their customer services but not once had a reply. What's the point in having a customer services desk if you are not going to respond? This man who runs this website by himself will find himself out of a job before long if this continues and he does not respond to people who are having problems with the website.

My overall description of plentyoffish.com is , I'm disgusted that someone can run a dating site this way, all people want to do is meet others and possibly romance, how can one do that if there are problems. This man who runs this site is a little harsh to say the least.

After having a profile on plentyoffish.com for a couple of months, I was deleted as I was trying to answer mail. It deleted my profile for no reason and I can't get back in under a new profile. I checked all the rules. I broke none of them.

I was talking to someone I liked, but don't have his last name or email. Emailed POF two days ago. No response. His business is gonna fail if he runs it like that. Doesn't matter how many hits he gets per day!

There is a sense of anonymity on the internet which is why any crook or predator can sign up for one of these free or paid dating sites. One should really be careful and perform all due diligence before going and seeing anyone they met on the internet. One good tool to help make internet dating easier is this site http://www.theDateLog.com where you can find the history of your potential date and see what others had to say about him/her.

Well I think it just goes to show, if you're earning half Million dollars a month from adverts on your site, you don't need to worry about little things like user support. See Big Check! It's a pity because otherwise I think it's a good site and was one of first to offer free dating.

I don't know who manages this site. It's pathetic. I can't log-in or register into this site and there's no reason why it is not registering me. No contact and proper user support for this site. This way soon this site will be a thrash box.
