WriteAPrisoner is a specialty site that allows people to correspond as pen pals with people in prison. The site doesn’t have a member’s area as such, but visitors can search for inmates by state, or using the search feature, that allows filtering by age, gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. It’s also possible to specifically locate those on death-row, serving life sentences, as well as those willing to correspond with people living overseas. Inmates can receive books and vouchers, as well as cards from their pen pal or sponsor. The site uses a paid credit system, where certain services (such as creating or maintaining a prisoner’s profile) can be undertaken for a fee. This allows sponsors, pen-pals or relatives to maintain an inmate’s presence on the site.
This is a very serious correspondence service, and there’s an extensive set of contact rules and regulations that must be obeyed when using it. These are necessary to ensure the safety of those wishing to correspond with prisoners as well as to prevent inmates from using this as a communications channel between others behind bars.

I guess we all have our own taste... and it's a shame people would frown upon this. As long as two people are happy that's all that matters.. I would just want to see maybe a little protection put in place for the consumer… because some prisoners can have alternative motives. I guess it happens on every site. I met someone from koopa.com and it went all nice until i came home one day and i never heard from her since. So i guess it can happen to anyone.. So good luck to you all and find happiness.
Best site of its kind. Really not so much a dating site as it is a community service. Lots of help for inmates and their families. Even information for victims. Good service.
u don't have to want to date anyone to write a prisoner...u just have to want to make a connection with someone & share who u are.
