Use a prepaid card, and throwaway email address

I found this site while surfing. Didn’t fill out much of a profile information wise but, I did go through the assessment test that they made you go through. That part I found a little refreshing however, I had learned my lesson from using Zoosk to not join until you properly vet the site. Even though I put zero information about me and what I’m looking for I started receiving messages immediately from beautiful women that were "local". Days later I went back and tried to look at the profiles (which should have been allowed under the no pay option). Everything I tried just kept taking me back to the upgrade page. I thought about paying the 3 day trial using a prepaid card (available at Wal-Mart) and do a month, but instead I searched everybody in my area. None of the users that emailed me showed up in that basic search. I didn’t use their user names as it defaulted back to the upgrade page. Since then, any and all messages from either Cupid or their "partner companies" have been noted as spam.

A couple things caught my attention quickly... 1. Every woman messaging me was beautiful. 2. The title of the message was something along the lines of either how hot I was or how I made them laugh. 3. I had neither a photo nor any information enclosed in my profile. This is nothing less than a scam.

A little unsolicited advice for the single men in the room that use online dating to meet women; do not use a poorly rated site as nothing less than a given but, don’t even use your normal debit/credit card with the more reputable ones (i.e. match.com). Go to Wal-Mart and get a prepaid card. It is in no way tied to your information and if you are foolish enough to give a site like Cupid the information, you’re only out $3 and you don’t have to cancel anything. On top of that, set up a different email address to use for the sites.

When you do bump into a site like this and you’re getting messaged from Victoria love and Nigerian princes that only need $1k from you to get $millions out of raisin (which of course, you’ll be handsomely rewarded) you don’t even need to go back to that email or worry about it being compromised. Fake email, prepaid card and for the love of god, get pictures prior to meeting them. If it‘s always them looking up at the phone camera and you only get from the chin up, two words gentlemen... fatty mcfatso.

P.S: 1 star because you can’t give 0...but a 5 for actually getting dudes to pay for this scam.
